Job Description (Haringey):

As a Psychology Graduate working within the special educational needs schools, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with SEN students in a supportive and dynamic environment. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one support to students with various SEN, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, and other learning disabilities.
  • Assisting teachers in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, therapists, and parents, to support the holistic development of students.
  • Observing and documenting student progress and behaviour.
  • Participating in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in working with SEN students.

Requirements as a Psychology Graduate working in SEN Schools:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field.
  • Passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting student learning and development.
