New Farming Apprenticeships Launched to Help Bolster the Agricultural Industry.
Minister for Further and Higher Education, Simon Harris, made a significant announcement today, unveiling the launch of two innovative farming apprenticeship programs. These programs, designed to bolster the agricultural sector, offer exciting opportunities for aspiring individuals looking to make a mark in the farming industry.
The first apprenticeship, known as the Farm Manager, is geared towards cultivating essential managerial skills in agriculture. Apprentices will be equipped with the latest research and best practices in farm management to successfully operate a commercial farm business. On the other hand, the Farm Technician apprenticeship focuses on training apprentices to proficiently operate within the Irish farming systems. Meanwhile, the Farm Technician program at Level 6 will be accessible at Teagasc Clonakilty College, Cork, and Teagasc Ballyhaise College, Cavan. Additionally, for those interested in horticulture, an apprenticeship will also be offered through the Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture, located in the picturesque Botanic Gardens of Dublin.
