Salary: £6.40 per hour (£10,011 per annum)
Hours: 30 hours per week (8.30am - 1.30pm Monday - Friday plus 5 hrs home study a week)

Nightingale Community Academy is a special school in Wandsworth for 120 boys aged 5 to 19 with social emotional and mental health needs.
Primary pupils benefit from a purpose-built classroom hub and outdoor adventure playground and access to weekly music lessons and a comprehensive therapy service. Secondary and post-16 students are offered a broad curriculum including vocational courses such as motor vehicle studies, construction, horticulture and hospitality. All pupils benefit from regular animal therapy at Tom s Farm, which is located on the spacious school site.

The Role
The role of Farm Assistant Apprentice will provide support for the effective management of Tom s Farm at Nightingale Community Academy under the guidance of the Farm Manager.
You will support the Farm Manager in carrying out practical tasks for the welfare of the animals on the farm, including looking after the animals health and nutritional needs.
You will work with pupils and staff on the farm dealing with a range of animals including reptiles, small animals, poultry, equine and hoof stock.
Tasks will include ordering food and supplies, maintaining health records, whilst ensuring that all equipment is organized, safe and accessible to pupils and legislative standards are observed.
Skills and Qualifications
- First Aid Certificate at Level 2 (Desirable)
- Level 1 in Functional Skills, maths and English or equivalent
- Experience of working on a working educational farm or similar with knowledge of Animal Husbandry
- Ability to be able to work confidently with all animals in on the farm.
