About this Apprenticeship

Our client, a trusted partner of the Ministry of Defence in the UK, is currently seeking a skilled Electrical Test Operator. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing test tasks within the operational business, adhering to product certification procedures and defined workmanship standards, and ensuring that all activities are completed within the allocated budgets and timescales to meet project objectives.

What we're looking for:

  • Electrical Apprenticeship in One of the following
  • Approved Apprenticeship/Apprenticeship Framework/Modern Apprenticeship

  • Vocational G or H Units with Further Education, City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3

  • Vocational TR23 Units with Further Education, ONC or City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3

  • Vocational NVQ3 with Further Education, BTEC ONC/HNC
  • Significant electrical test experience required (Mid -
  • Senior)
  • Manual handling /ESD training: Lifting & Slinging training (Including overhead cranes).
  • Excellent planning, organisational and adaptable skills.
  • No colour blindness

What you'll get to do as an Electrical Test Operator:

Ensure the product is certified according to the Product Certification procedure and maintain its certification through regular audits. Apply a diverse set of skills to various tasks. Perform necessary setup procedures for testing, including regular recalibration of equipment, and follow instructions for testing electronic equipment. Conduct basic fault-finding on electronic equipment and rectify identified issues. Keep test records, report faults for rectification, and ensure manufacturing test times are met. Maintain the highest workmanship standards and product quality. Adhere to all relevant manufacturing procedures and share best practices with the team.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.
