Premier Engineering is working with a forward-thinking engineering company based in Cambridge who are looking to recruit a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with an interest in structural analysis and mechanical design using FEA tools.

The Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (BEng, MEng, etc.)
  • An understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar
  • Good understanding of engineering fundamentals and design for manufacture
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • A desire to develop technically and progress within an engineering environment
The Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
  • Assisting in the design and analysis of mechanical systems and components
  • Using FEA software to carry out stress and structural simulations
  • Producing detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings
  • Supporting senior engineers with design reviews and documentation
  • Contributing to product development from concept to production
  • Liaising with internal departments such as manufacturing and quality
