About this Apprenticeship

Are you an economics or accounting finance graduate looking to kick-start your career? Have you studied how to read financial statements?

Are you looking to develop your skills in a progressive, global organisation?

If this sounds appealing, then considering a career as a Credit Risk Analyst could be right for you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a multi-billion-pound business that has chosen the North East as the home of its credit and collections team.

Here, you'll develop sought-after commercial skills that will allow you to understand and interpret a business's financial strength, and you'll gain a deep understanding of trade finance and credit management.

As part of a high-calibre team, you'll be responsible for making recommendations on credit decisions for new and existing customers by interpreting financial reports (profit and loss statements and balance sheets), reviewing credit reports, and considering international geopolitical risk factors.

You'll have discretionary responsibility to authorise trade credit of up to $1m, and you present analysis and recommendation to Director level for credit exposures of up to $10bn. This isn't an everyday credit control position.

You will have good attention to detail and possess strong communication skills as you will be speaking to international clients regularly.

Perhaps you already have credit risk assessment and analysis skills and gained experience as a credit analyst, or you may be a recent graduate starting your career. It's more important that you've got an appetite to learn and want to develop.

With the right attitude, commitment, teamwork, and communication skills, you'll advance in this challenging role, where no two days are ever the same.
