As an Trainee Inspector/Inspector based in Portlethen, you will carry out or arrange relevant preparatory work, visual and dimensional inspection on tubulars which will also include field repairs, NDT, NDE testing, material classification and marking, and the complete and accurate reporting of results in a conscientious and professional manner and in accordance with company procedures, industry standards and specifications, and customer requirements, as appropriate.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Verifying material description against the work order.
Assessing material suitability for inspection.
Drawing attention to conditions that should be reported to the customer.
Interaction with customer representatives to ensure their reasonable expectations are met.
Proper selection, set up, and use of equipment to ensure the inspection and/or testing is carried out safely and effectively.
Accurate material marking; stencilling, numbering, colour coding.
Carrying out visual and dimensional inspection, NDT, NDE and related tasks, in accordance with the specified requirements.
Monitoring of equipment condition and performance, and reporting loss, damage, or misuse.
Accurate recording of all relevant information and results.
Classification of material as per the specified requirements.
Accurate final reporting in a manner suitable for communication to administrative staff or customers, as required.
Ensuring the working area is kept in a safe, clean, and orderly state.
Carrying out basic maintenance and arranging for spares and consumables to be ordered as required.
Perform other tasks as instructed to meet business requirements, provided the instructions are reasonable and the employee is deemed competent to perform these.
Carry out all duties safely in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training and instruction.
To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
QUALIFICATIONS:

MPI / LPI
EXPERIENCE:

NS-2 / DS-1 Specifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field is a plus.
Previous experience in the oil and gas industry or a mechanical background is advantageous but not required.
SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:

Must have knowledge with drilling tubulars and pipe yards
Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
Working Conditions:

The role may require working in remote locations and under various weather conditions.
Shift work, including nights and weekends, may be necessary depending on project requirements.
