The client, an independent Transport Consultancy who have been established since 2007, is on the lookout for a Trainee CAD designer to join the team based in Newcastle! The client works on projects across all sectors including complex residential, leisure, education, minerals, employment, logistics.

As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in our design process, focusing on principle design work such as swept path analysis, roundabouts, carparks and much more, to support planning applications. You will gain expertise in CAD and Autotrack as you collaborate with the experienced team.

The Position of a CAD Designer - Full Training Provided

Focused Design Work: Unlike a CAD Engineer, this role emphasizes creating detailed designs for planning applications rather than extensive engineering projects. This ensures you can make a significant impact without the pressure of detailed engineering tasks.

Diverse Projects: From simple T-junctions to complex multi-arm roundabouts, you'll tackle a variety of projects. You'll also contribute to masterplanning, public realm projects, and car park designs, ensuring accessibility for various service deliveries and sustainable travel considerations.

Challenging and Rewarding: While the role is distinct from that of a CAD Engineer, it remains demanding and challenging. Your work will be subject to scrutiny via Stage 1 Road Safety Audits, ensuring high standards and quality outcomes.

Essential Criteria for the candidate as a CAD Designer

  • Position is suited for a HNC/D Graduate
  • AutoCAD experience required
  • Ability to work independently and within the supporting team.
  • Solution-focused
  • UK driving licence.
