Role Overview:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering high-quality education, work closely with students to promote learning and engagement, and contribute to a positive learning environment. This role will allow you to work with pupils across different subjects and year groups, offering variety and a chance to develop a broad skill set.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting teachers in planning and delivering lessons.
- Providing 1:1 or small group support to students who need additional help.
- Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) or English as an additional language (EAL).
- Helping manage classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.
- Preparing learning resources and activities under teacher guidance.
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as grading, recording attendance, and setting up classroom materials.
- Engaging with students to encourage participation and monitor progress.
Requirements:
- A graduate degree (any subject area).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for working with young people and an interest in education.
- Previous child-based experience is preferred but not essential.
- A valid DBS check on the update service is required.
