Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to students with SEND, drawing on your psychological understanding of child development and learning difficulties.
- Assist teachers in creating and delivering tailored lessons that address the unique needs of each student.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that encourages the growth of all students.
- Help manage behaviour and ensure a safe and supportive classroom experience.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other professionals to implement strategies and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Requirements:
Experience: Experience in an educational, care, or support setting is desirable but not essential; transferable skills from your psychology background are highly valued.
Qualifications: A psychology degree or similar background in mental health, education, or child development is advantageous.
Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills. Ability to apply psychological knowledge in supporting diverse learning needs.
DBS: Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
