About this Apprenticeship

We re on the lookout for a positive, hands-on Apprentice to join our Grounds Maintenance Team in Salford!

You ll learn the ropes and take on the same tasks as our Grounds Maintenance Operatives, all while working towards a recognised qualification. It s a great chance to make a real difference in the local area by helping to keep outdoor spaces clean, safe, and looking their best.

This is a 24 month fixed term contract, working 40 hours per week. The salary is based upon the National Minimum Age for apprentices.

Your Role:

  • Attend training and work toward your craft qualification
  • Undertake grounds maintenance work to areas and properties as per customers specifications relevant to the area
  • Leave homes clean and safe, collecting tenant signatures after jobs
  • Support colleagues and build relationships across the business
  • Safely operate tools, machinery, and vehicles
  • Keep accurate records of work and materials used
  • Follow safety procedures, including reporting hazards like asbestos
  • Complete paperwork accurately and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Work flexibly, including out-of-hours if needed, and follow all health and safety guidelines

What We Need from You.

  • Have a genuine interest in working in grounds maintenance
  • Have a GCSE or equivalent standard in Maths and English (grade 4 and above)
  • Have a positive approach to completing relevant courses and qualifications
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude towards varied work and schedules
  • Excellent customer service skills and punctuality
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational and planning skills
