Are you a recent graduate looking to kick-start your career in geotechnical engineering with a talented consultancy in the South Yorkshire area?

We are working with a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Sheffield that is looking to bring on a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to support their expanding ground investigation and design team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of projects, with full training and support towards chartership.

The Role

As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you will be involved in both site and office-based work, giving you a well-rounded start to your career.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with ground investigations (boreholes, trial pits, sampling)
  • Logging soil and rock in accordance with UK standards
  • Supporting geotechnical design (foundations, slopes, retaining structures)
  • Preparing factual and interpretative reports
  • Carrying out desk studies and risk assessments
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and the wider engineering team

Requirements

  • Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or similar
  • Strong interest in ground engineering and site work
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good communication and report writing skills
