The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Graduate Civil Engineer to join a progressive consultancy at their Cardiff office. This role provides the chance to work on a variety of infrastructure and civil engineering projects while benefiting from structured support to advance your career. The successful candidate will contribute to design and delivery, gaining valuable experience across drainage, highways, and sustainable infrastructure systems.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the design and detailing of civil infrastructure projects, including drainage systems, highways, and SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems).
  • Supporting the preparation of adoption agreements such as S104, S106, S185 (drainage), and S38, S278 (highways).
  • Producing drawings, calculations, and technical reports using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, and Civils 3D.
  • Working collaboratively with senior engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Actively engaging in training and mentoring programs to enhance professional development.
Requirements
  • A degree (MEng, BEng, or BSc) in Civil Engineering, or an HNC/HND qualification, ideally accredited by the Engineering Council.
  • Approximately 1 to 3 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering or infrastructure-related projects.
  • Familiarity with design tools, including AutoCAD and drainage software like MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage, with knowledge of Civils 3D or similar being advantageous.
  • A keen interest in learning new skills and contributing to the successful delivery of engineering solutions.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
