Job Description:
A reputable and long-standing Civil Engineering Contractor delivering a variety of complex projects, with a real reputation for being a market leader in the industry. Following a period of sustained expansion, the business is anticipating further growth over the next 12 months and as such require an additional Site (Civil) Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.
Due to the nature of works, some travel and overnight stays away from home should be expected, and a full UK drivers licence is essential.
Your New Role:
- Support the management of site operations, to ensure safety, quality, cost effectiveness, timely production, and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in planning and sequencing of operations, including writing method statements and risk assessments, and procuring sub-contractor, labour, plant, and material resources.
- Implement operational quality control measures and QA processes.
- Develop work plans, method statements and risk assessments.
- Monitor the progress of project works.
- Take a proactive approach in the responsibility for Health and Safety ensuring all required documentation is in place.
- Ensure full communication across all management levels within the project.
- Attend regular meetings with the client to discuss and appraise performance.
- Ensure that all operatives are provided with the necessary resources, materials, and information for the carrying out of their duties and for ensuring that safe working practices are followed.
- Complete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard.
- Conduct self in a way that reflects and promotes the company values.
- Understand and act in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake.
Candidate Criteria:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
- Be able to demonstrate practical experience (preferable)
- Experience with AutoCAD (preferable)
- IT competent in Microsoft packages
- Valid CSCS Card
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
- Effective planning and organisation skills
- A structured approach to problem solving.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and technical skills
