Job Description:

A reputable and long-standing Civil Engineering Contractor delivering a variety of complex projects, with a real reputation for being a market leader in the industry. Following a period of sustained expansion, the business is anticipating further growth over the next 12 months and as such require an additional Site (Civil) Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.

Due to the nature of works, some travel and overnight stays away from home should be expected, and a full UK drivers licence is essential.

Your New Role:

  • Support the management of site operations, to ensure safety, quality, cost effectiveness, timely production, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in planning and sequencing of operations, including writing method statements and risk assessments, and procuring sub-contractor, labour, plant, and material resources.
  • Implement operational quality control measures and QA processes.
  • Develop work plans, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Monitor the progress of project works.
  • Take a proactive approach in the responsibility for Health and Safety ensuring all required documentation is in place.
  • Ensure full communication across all management levels within the project.
  • Attend regular meetings with the client to discuss and appraise performance.
  • Ensure that all operatives are provided with the necessary resources, materials, and information for the carrying out of their duties and for ensuring that safe working practices are followed.
  • Complete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard.
  • Conduct self in a way that reflects and promotes the company values.
  • Understand and act in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake.

Candidate Criteria:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Be able to demonstrate practical experience (preferable)
  • Experience with AutoCAD (preferable)
  • IT competent in Microsoft packages
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Effective planning and organisation skills
  • A structured approach to problem solving.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and technical skills
