Wolviston Group Ltd is proud to offer an exciting placement opportunity with Whessoe Engineering Ltd, a leading name in civil and structural engineering.

This Graduate Civil Engineer role, based in Darlington, is part of a structured development programme designed to build the next generation of Chartered Engineers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Participating in the design and reporting of reinforced and post-tensioned concrete cryogenic tanks
  • Assisting in the interpretation of geotechnical data and soil-structure interaction for large-scale foundation systems
  • Supporting the use of finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as ANSYS in design development
  • Translating engineering outputs into practical CAD drawing deliverables (for example GA drawings, reinforcement detailing, and bar schedules)
  • Providing technical input across multidisciplinary teams, supporting both project execution and proposal development

Requirements:

  • MEng in Civil Engineering from an ICE or IStructE accredited programme
  • Familiarity with FEA concepts and software, preferably ANSYS
  • Understanding of reinforced concrete design and geotechnical principles
  • Aspiration to achieve Chartered Engineer status
