We are recruiting for a Graduate Engineer for our Northern region.

Due to increased workload, our Northern Region are currently recruiting a Graduate or Site Engineer to join them initially in Derby on an emergency works scheme alongside the River Derwent to stabilise and protect a flood embankment. This comprises of rock armour placement to the left-hand bank and de-silt and removal of vegetation from the right-hand bank.

Duties:

  • To progress the construction process and assist in delivering the project. To develop awareness, understanding and ability to successfully perform the key tasks and responsibilities and progress to Site Engineer.
  • Become or be proficient in all basic setting out techniques on site, including production of as-built records.
  • Manage setting out requirements on site, own time/tasks & self-development.
  • Communication with site foreman and subcontractors to aid construction
  • Manage site activities and carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works.
  • Complete relevant site records as required, including daily site daily.
  • Undertake basic take-offs.
  • Raising technical queries with designers and other members of the client team.
  • Read and review construction drawings.

We are seeking a proactive problem solver, a confident communicator, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals.

The Civil Engineering Graduate vacancy role would suit a BEng / MEng (Hons) qualified civil engineering graduate who is either newly qualified or has some relevant experience within the industry. If you are an experienced site engineer, you will gold a CSCS card in the appropriate discipline, have an SSSTS card and ICE membership as well as good understanding of ITP s and quality assurance processes.

Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license is essential and the successful candidate will be happy to travel throughout our Northern Region.
