I am on the hunt for an Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join one of my clients in their Bristol Office. Our client is established in the region delivering a mixed portfolio of projects to meet the needs of their clients. Working with long standing clients, you will be exposed to a depth and breadth of projects across all sectors, including commercial, retail, public sector/government departments, education, health and residential. They offer excellent experience and first class training/mentoring support to help you achieve professional status in which they have a very high success rate.

The Opportunity

The successful Graduate Quantity Surveyor will join a busy existing team with key responsibilities including:
  • Prepare detailed order of cost estimates and cost plans for construction projects.
  • Provide expert advice on all cost-related aspects of building projects, ensuring budget control.
  • Advise on the implications of various construction methods, materials, and approaches.
  • Evaluate different proposal options, offering recommendations for the most efficient and cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide guidance on contract arrangements and conditions for project delivery.
  • Manage the procurement and tendering processes, selecting the most suitable contractor for the project.
  • Oversee the commercial management of projects, including work valuations, assessments of variations, and the preparation of final accounts.
The Ideal Candidate

They are looking for candidates with recent Construction Consultancy experience, as well as:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, with membership status of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CIOB etc. (preferable)
  • Good communication skills
  • A team player with a can-do attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible
  • A strong aspiration to pursue and achieve Chartered Quantity Surveyor status.
