My client is a specialist civil engineering contractor turning over in excess of £15M and specialise within the multi utilities sector. Operating across a number of sectors including industrial, commercial, residential, social housing and regeneration, this client works on projects throughout the South East with project values ranging up to £7M. They have a brilliant reputation in the industry and much of their work is secured due to repeat business. Company culture is important, isn t it? My client also agrees. They are a tight-knit team with a very low staff turnover which is due to recognition of hard work and performance from the Directors. About the opportunity:

As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in a lot of client-faced meetings as well as ensuring each project is profitable for the company. You will be reporting to the Commercial Manager who will mentor, coach, and help develop your ability. You will be involved in viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and preparing valuations with Project Managers and the Commercial Manager.

The types of projects will be a variety of different utility projects, multi utilities, water mains, groundworks and infrastructure projects, mainly being delivered to development sites across the South East.

About the benefits and rewards:

For this opportunity, my client is targeting professionals who are looking to earn anywhere between £27,000 - £32,000 per annum, however specific remuneration will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, a generous benefits package will be offered and hybrid working is available.

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this opportunity, you will need to be degree qualified in a related discipline (Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management). Additionally, you must be based within commutable distance from their office in Thrupp, Oxfordshire and due to site locations, you must hold a full UK driving license.

As this is a junior opportunity, my client is looking for a graduate who is keen to kick start their career in Quantity Surveying, who is hungry and looking to learn. Professionals with an industry placement would be welcomed however previous experience in the position is not essential.
