Are you an Aspiring Youth Worker or Criminal Justice Officer looking to gain critical experience working with at-risk groups of teenagers with behavioural needs? Have you recently graduated with a degree in Criminology?
This Behaviour Support role is aimed at an enthusiastic, empathetic Criminology Graduate who wants to initiate restorative practices to assist a wide array of social and emotional needs students, ranging from early childhood trauma, to eating disorders, to school refusal and at-risk criminal offending groups.
The school has not had a permanent exclusion for over 12 months, and is committed to ensure no student is left behind both pastorally and academically.
This Specialist Provision in Oxford has a state of the art Mental Health Support Environment, where you will have the opportunity to shadow specialised staff such as trained counsellors, therapists, pastoral support workers and social workers.
Many of the students will have been through severe traumas and there will be a mix of good and non-existent relationships with their parents, which lends itself to a diversity of therapies to be employed. Restorative Practice, pragmatism, and positive reinforcement will be key skills in this support role in Oxford. Successful Criminology graduates will specialise in working with students who have behavioural, social and emotional mental health needs. The students you are raising attainment with are between the ages of 11-16, all have EHCPs and will need to continue their education once they leave the school.
