IT Graduate Developer

Are you a software development graduate who is looking for a great place to start your career?

We are looking for a talented and driven individual to complement our busy Data & Development team to work with various development tasks and projects from development of Open-Source CRM modules and interfaces to web / SharePoint development.

IT Graduate Developer Key tasks:

  • Attend project and team meetings, daily standups, and liaise with other Digital Team members, Project Managers, Analysts, and business stakeholders in discussing system requirements and design.
  • Amend and develop councils website and different web applications based on visual designs, specifications, user stories & wireframes and guidance from other digital team members, following corporate procedures, guidelines, and standards.
  • Use standard programming languages and frameworks such as HTML/CSS, Python, JavaScript, Angular, PHP, C# and SQL to deliver required functionality
  • Develop code in line with security and accessibility best practices such as OWASP and WGAC 2.1/2.2 5. Documentation of the work to a good standard
  • Thoroughly test all changes made to the application code base to ensure all functionality developed meets the requirements specified and functions without error.
  • Demonstrate and champion the Councils Going Beyond values.

You will be a part of our digital transformation journey helping us to innovate and modernise our digital services we offer to our residents.

  • Ideally your skillset would cover PHP, Python and JavaScript as main languages with solid knowledge of front-end frameworks from HTML and CSS to Angular, / Django but what really matters is being curious and keen learner who is willing to explore and take ownership of tasks.
  • Having experience of open source products such as Joomla and working with APIs and C# would be a great advantage for you too.
