Nicholas Howard are delighted to be recruiting an exciting new role for an Accounts Assistant to join an innovative Clinical Research Organisation on a part time, or full time basis, predominantly working remotely. This is a rounded role covering Purchase and Sales ledger, project work, and wider responsibilities, so will need great attention to detail and strong excel skills.

Due to an increase in the company size and complexity, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the business and support the Finance and HR team in the financial operations and project finance management of the Company. The applicant will need to be adaptable and confident working in a fast-paced environment and be willing to broaden their skill set activities as required, such as advancing their Excel knowledge.


Role:

  • To manage the Purchase Ledger in multi currencies for projects and overheads including credit cards, staff expenses and proactive management of company supplier contracts / agreements. e.g. Mobile Phone contracts
  • To manage the Sales ledger in multi currencies, including tracking and raising of invoices, credit control
  • To be responsible for the management of timesheets and uploading the data onto SAGE
  • To assist with the project management portfolio in Excel including data capture from SAGE and forecasting
  • To carry out VAT returns
  • To assist with Grant reclaims and audits
  • Adhoc duties

Skills and experience:

  • Graduate with finance, accounting or equivalent degree / professional accounting qualifications / qualified by experience with 3-4+ years in a financial role
  • Prior experience of working in a finance role within pharma / biotech / CRO / life science/ R&D industry an advantage
  • A concern for quality, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good working knowledge of the SAGE finance package, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word
  • Ability to multi-task, be analytical and problem solve
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Excellent organisational, computer and administrative skills

We are open to candidates who can work part time (5 days p/week, reduced hours), or full time. The role will be predominantly remote, with time expected in the office 1 or 2 days p/month.
