The Role

We have a client in South Yorkshire with a large commercial department looking for a trainee / junior / assistant QS to shadow the senior QS. You'll get real hands on experience that allows your to fast track your career and manage your own projects without the pressure of being out there on your own.

The company is supportive, with no blame culture that stands by you but doesn't micro-manage. They have a successful pipeline of QS's that have followed this exact route and are flourishing in their jobs.

The Company

Established in 1990 they have had the same owner from the beginning. The majority of their work is fit-out in the hospitality sector. Projects are typically fast track fit-outs of pubs, restaurants, bars, hotels and commercial office space. The company are an advocate of modern methods in construction and offer their clients forward thinking service to their requirements.

Job Specifics

Provide clear, timely and accurate information, advice and reports to the Commercial Team, external clients and the board.

Supporting senior members of the team in day-to-day management and delivery of projects.

Ensure deadlines are actively managed and progress is reported to supervisors as required.

Follow the company's quality assurance process on all projects.

Ensure standard documentation is used when presenting any external information.

Attend, contribute and minute meetings.

Carry out site visits/inspections.

Working across a number of different projects where applicable.

Undertake relevant training as required by the organisation.

Completion of weekly timesheets.

Demonstrate effective project management skills in all tasks.

Meet or exceed target efficiency percentage for billable hours.

The Ideal Candidate

You must have a degree in quantity surveying
