About this Apprenticeship

A client of mine, based in the Midlands, are a national specialist in providing inspection services to the pressure, lifting and materials handling sectors. They currently run a programme for anyone qualified to an NVQ 3 standard (or higher) to train up and become an Engineer Surveyor in the Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire regions.

Alongside an internal training programme, with support from a Chief Engineer, Technical Supervisor and fellow Engineer Surveyors, you will be assigned to external courses, covering LOLER, PSSR, LEV and PUWER training to become a strong all-rounder Engineer Surveyor once the programme is completed.

The position will involve the following duties;

  • Conducting thorough inspections and surveys of various industrial equipment and machinery to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Utilising advanced measurement tools and techniques to assess the structural integrity, safety, and performance of equipment, including but not limited to pressure vessels, lifting equipment, and industrial machinery.
  • Generating detailed inspection reports outlining findings, recommendations, and compliance status for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with engineering and maintenance teams to provide expert guidance on defect resolution, equipment repairs, and preventive maintenance strategies.

Upon joining the company, you will be provided with a choice of company car, commercial vehicle or car allowance, along with an introductory basic salary of 38,000pa, with paid door-to-door travel time. This is reviewed annually.

Along with their training and support available, they offer a friendly, team environment with flexibility in working hours if needed. The basic package includes a 3% pension scheme, 25 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays, a fuel card (or mileage expenses) along with a phone, laptop and everything else you need.
