Spray Operative & General Tractor Worker

Salary: £11.50 - £15.00 per hour

Location: Staffordshire

Working for a family run business producing over 4,000 tonnes strawberries and 800 tonnes of raspberries per annum. Working hours variable per week dependent on crop and weather and the time of year.

TRAINEE: Training programme to achieve PA1/PA3 & NROSO qualification

EXPERIENCED: PA1/PA3 qualified with 1 year experience with good numerical skills

Driving licence: B

Computer literate (preferred but not essential)

Daily Operations

To spray agrochemicals and horticultural chemicals using air assisted & boom sprayers

Responsible of calibration of sprayers and apparatus used in between NSTS tests

To ensure all documents and spray forms are completed accurately and promptly

Transportation of chemicals for field operations

Communicate with management on daily operations as required

Delivering diesel

Transportation of liquid fertilizer

Transportation of water

Soil sampling

To liaise with customers when needed

To spread suspension fertiliser/lime/green waste/manure

To apply liquid fertiliser

To spread slug pellets

To apply biological control

To operate a variety of machinery to assist in field work to assist in groundwork, transportation of produce

Providing support to all aspects of the operation team in other elements of the farming business
Position Requirements

Effective team player to work co-operatively, effectively with others and independently at times without supervision delivering crop targets on spraying

Ability to work under pressure and to keep to work deadlines as requested by management in a timely and efficient manner

Excellent communication skills to build effective working relationships

Flexible approach to working hours and managing changing priorities
