About this Apprenticeship

Nelson Permanent Placements are working with a UK Leading M&E Provider who are located in the centre of the Midlands. Our client is currently looking to bring on a Mechanical Site Manager that will be based in Banbury, due to the continued growth of the company.

The ideal Site Manager will have a proven record of accomplishment and share in the values of the company, assisting with their ongoing success in this sector.

You would be working directly with the Managing Director to deliver on Mechanical projects, whilst nurturing a culture of continuous improvements. You will be evaluating large scale and complex opportunities, while delivering compliant and successful tender returns. Other duties of the successful Site Manager include liaising with clients to produce quotations and site visits as necessary.

The successful candidate will manage welding, general small fabrication and other associated works as required ensuring that all tasks and activities are performed to satisfy Quality Plans and Specifications, in accordance with company policies, procedures, UK Regulations and Client requirements.

Once the current project has been completed, there will be further opportunities that will always be based around the Banbury area.

£40 - £50k (DOE)

Key Responsibilities

* Estimating projects based works and client relationship development

* Managing and coordinating teams of Operatives to deliver projects

* The specification and Purchasing of materials for projects and site based works

* The preparation and retention of any documentation and project sign off/handover

* Adherence to company Health and Safety policies and procedures both company and legislative

* The general compliance of all equipment and accreditations required to complete project works.

* General site works

* Welding

* Assist the Managing Director as required

Qualifications

Forklift licence is desirableIPAF Mobile Elevating Work Platforms is desirable

PASMA Tower certificate of Competence is desirable

Isosh / Nebosh would be desirable

Person Specification

To be successful in the role our client is looking for a Site Management professional, well versed in Mechanical Engineering. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and driven individual and will be looking to join a team of like-minded people. The individual must thrive on the challenge of being a part of a high performing team.

* Experience and Knowledge of plant and process essential

* Completion of a recognised qualification or time served trade apprenticeship

* Experience in a similar role within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment.

* Welding and Fabrication experience

* Demonstrate ability to understand Engineering drawings

* Demonstrate use of all types of machinery

* Demonstrate Competency in Tig / Mig / Arc Welding

* Competent in all types of Fabrication work

* Demonstrate knowledge of all types of steels and their use

* Demonstrate an understanding of Quality Procedures

* Demonstrate Health and Safety Awareness

* Understand Method Statements and Risk Assessments

Desirable Experience & Knowledge

* Experience of working in the food and beverage industry would be advantageous

* Demonstrate competence in Slinging & lifting loads

* Ability to draw parts for manufacture

* Coded welder

* Fitting / Assembly skills
