We re hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a skilled and experienced workforce at an ultra-modern manufacturing facility based in Stockport. With more than a century of engineering experience under their belt they have long been a pioneer of innovation, and with employees being at the heart of their business, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced auditor to join their team.

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the effective transfer and development of AIT knowledge and production practices from the parent company in Munich to the Stockport site.

What s on offer?

£45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Monday - Thursday 7:45 am - 4:15 pm / Friday 12:45 pm finish (37 hours per week)

What will you be doing as a Manufacturing Engineer?

Transferring the knowledge and learning of the AIT production process from the parent company; this will require a minimum of 3 months based at the Munich site learning the existing process

Acting as the focal point of knowledge for manufacturing engineering and tooling in the AIT area. Supporting the operators by enhancing their knowledge of the AIT process and parts. Leading and driving structured problem solving and process improvement activities during the ramp-up phase and onwards during stable production

Coordinating cross-functional team activities to optimise cost performance, operating standards and minimising waste through line balancing and the development of a continuous improvement culture encompassing lean principles

Providing design for manufacturing input at early stages in the product development process, coordinating with and supporting implement engineering changes to designs and developing effective processes to ensure manufacturability of product while maintaining quality, safety and environmental standards and cost targets

Supporting project management in cross-functional activity required for project execution

What do you need?

Ideally be educated to Bachelor level or equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering discipline or HND, or an advanced/higher apprenticeship in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering

Technical skill set developed in complex engineering environments

Successful track record of manufacturing excellence

Experience in a similar role within an industrial or technical environment

Understanding of Engineering Change processes

Operating in complex organisations

Planning experience using SAP (Ideally trained in SAP)

Structuring BOMs from Drawing to Manufacture
