About the role

Are you currently looking to start your career in education? Have you finished your degree and not sure what to do next? Are you about to graduate and looking to gain experience in Education?

As a Graduate Teacher you will be responsible for covering classes in a secondary school. You will be tasked with leading lessons of approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the class teacher. You will be willing to cover classes across the full range of secondary school subjects. You are not expected to be a subject specialist in each area they cover. The lesson will always be planned, it is your job to facilitate the classes learning, manage classroom behaviour, record accurate registers and provide a handover to the absent teacher. Successful Graduate Teachers are adaptable, flexible, motivated and organised, they have a passion for education and supporting young people.

This role provides a great opportunity to any graduate that seeks to gain experience of working within a Secondary school prior to applying to Initial Teacher Training. Although experience of working in a Secondary School is desirable this is not essential, Vision offers a comprehensive training programmes to new Cover Supervisors.

About the school

We are working with a number of mainstream schools across Rochdale and surrounding areas. Our partnering Secondary schools are seeking graduates to work as Graduate Cover Teachers (Cover Supervisors), successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on daily supply or in longer fixed term supply contracts.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Graduate Cover Supervisor you will:

  • Have a degree
  • Be available 5 days a week

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Experience with young people
