C. Hoare & Co are the leading private bank in the UK and are undergoing an exciting transformation programme with data, technology and automation at the heart of it. Having already moved their digital banking application to a cutting-edge cloud system in 2021, the wider suite of tools and systems are undergoing similar enhancements and they are looking to bring in a cohort of apprentices to build a future pipeline of talent for the organisation.

A typical day

  • To monitor, process and manage fraud alerts for all products via industry fraud systems. When fraud is detected, ensure that the account/application is immediately "blocked" or declined preventing further fraudulent activity and minimising losses to the bank.
  • To build and utilise investigation techniques to complete examination of all cases ensuring appropriate actions are taken i.e., confirmed fraudulent transactions are processed correctly, fraud case files created, loadings are made,
  • To pro-actively monitor and identify suspicious trends and patterns, suggesting preventative actions and improvements to current procedures, policies and systems.
  • Recovery of monies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on confirmed fraud cases to identity gaps in the current process.
  • Responsible for managing fraud alerts generated through our fraud detection systems completing end to end investigation.
  • Liaise with customers regarding any potential or proven fraudulent activity
  • Monitor and analyse any fraudulent trends
  • Proactively identify emerging fraud trends through day-to-day activities.
  • Provide support for customers who have been victims of fraud

You must have

  • GCSE English & Maths 4-9 (C-A ) or equivalent

Future prospect

After your Data Fellowship Apprenticeship, you can progress into any Junior Data Analyst, Data Scientist and Data engineer role. You'll have the skills to run insight analytical projects from beginning to end and work within a Data Analytics team.
