About this Apprenticeship

This role is to support the Digital Marketing team in the continued development, maintenance and improvement of Brother UK’s online/digital platforms.

In compliance with company brand guidelines, tone of voice and digital best practice, main tasks will include creating and amending content for the Brother UK websites as well as maintaining up-to-date materials, assets and product details in the Sitecore and Drupal content management system, ensuring search engine optimisation best practice is adhered to at all times. 

Responsibilities will also include supporting the wider Digital and Marketing Team with product launches and activating online campaigns. Plus, ensuring that digital activities are regularly and accurately reported. 

Critical Key Tasks

  • Ensure successful completion of Digital Marketing Apprenticeship.
  • Support in the maintenance, updating and improvement of the Brother UK website in line with content strategy and digital best practice. Ensure all content adheres to search engine optimisation best practice.  
  • Support Channel and End User product launches, ensuring accuracy of online content in relation to product specification, pricing and where to buy details.  Provide an additional level of brand guardianship online, ensuring that brand accuracy and consistency have been achieved in published work.
  • Inputting into the relevant Sub Group, supporting campaign launches, general website tasks and identifying new online opportunities, ensuring content remains relevant and reflects the direction and needs of the business as a whole.   
  • Using Google Analytics plus other reporting tools, to ensure all onsite activities are reported regularly and shared with key stakeholders.

General tasks 

  • Ensure work is completed in a timely manner, within deadlines, and to an excellent quality, through high attention to detail.
  • Communicate out to relevant stakeholders to ensure they know where work is up to. Produce ongoing, weekly status reports to highlight work.
  • Work closely with relevant members of the Digital team, plus the wider Marketing Department
  • Keep up to date with digital trends and if necessary, communicate these the wider team.
  • Plan work through self-motivation, showing initiative when needed.

Entry requirements

•  5 GCSEs grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English and Maths)

Job Specific

Marketing Communications - Implements effective content updates aligned with the national marketing and Market Development communication strategy, including product launches.

Liaises with external digital agencies and other service providers to ensure user experience is at the heart of website updates.

Positioning & Branding - Ensure brand accuracy, consistency and saliency within all projects and across our websites and content campaign. Ensure all creative and content adheres to brand guidelines and tone of voice guidelines.

Measurement and Control - Uses appropriate financial tools to evaluate impact of marketing initiatives and content plans e.g. budgets, ROI and brand value.  

Measures the effectiveness of all website updates through Google analytics.

Market Research and Analysis -  Keep up to date with web design initiatives and SEO algorithm updates, plus digital product developments. Identify trends on company websites and make proactive suggestions to improve performance.

Training to be provided

You will undertake the ground breaking Apprentify Digital Marketer Level 3 apprenticeship.

We have designed our programme to offer you 4 distinct routes to focus your career path and specialise in areas such as Social Media, Search Engine Marketing, Web Design or Web Development. These paths are designed to jump start your career and make you stand out in a competitive field increasing your future earning potential.

During the 15 months of training you will learn cutting edge theory and industry practice across three Knowledge Modules:

  • Marketing Principles – starting with the basics you will learn how to effectively target customers based on their wants and desires as well as how the sales and marketing funnels work. You will understand what makes customers buy or not buy and how marketing can influence this as well as how to effectively focus on target markets and manage customers to make them loyal to a business.
  • How the Web Works – delving into the technical you will learn the Principles of Coding and how marketers create effective web sites, designs and user interfaces. This includes how web design and development drive engagement and conversions.
  • Driving Return on Investment – using data to create detailed customer insight, you will learn how to use industry leading platforms (including Google Analytics) to understand the online customer journey and improve your marketing based on customer usage of your website.
