All applicants must hold a current Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and able to work within the county of Surrey.

The starting salary for this position is £15,158 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.

This position sits within the Climate Change Team and will be of interest for those looking to develop a career in sustainability and content production as you work towards a Level 3 qualification.

Our 18-month Apprenticeship scheme provides a perfect way to earn a wage while you gain vital work experience and a nationally recognised qualification. You will be fully supported and mentored through your apprenticeship and be given protected time to complete your course work. The scheme is designed for individuals who are living and entitled to work in England and are not in full-time education.

Some of the tasks you will be involved with in the role include:

  • Collaborating with colleagues from across SCC to create informative and creative content for the climate change public webpages.
  • Developing the external climate change e-newsletter content.
  • Creating resources for the internal Green Champion Network to share best practise on sustainability, policies and project updates with different service areas.
  • Using various media to support central government lobbying and public communication and engagement campaigns.
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the Climate Change team, such as attending events and responding to resident enquiries.
  • Learning about climate change and the impacts, action and adaptation that is needed to respond to it in Surrey.

Our office base is Quadrant Court in Woking. However, our team operate a flexible working policy with many choosing to primarily work from home and Wednesday as our team office day.
