We currently have an opportunity for an Apprentice within our Built Environment team based in London. The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.
The successful individual will be working towards a Level 6 – BEng (Hons) Building Services. This will be taught as a 1 day release with London South Bank University for a duration of 5 years.
The Building Services Design Engineer Apprentice will work with and develop to managing other engineers and technicians and will collaborate with other construction professionals to design the various services found in buildings and infrastructure projects. The Apprentice will report to and be directed by a line manager and head of department. The work typically includes systems such as renewable and emerging technologies, energy management, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, drainage, lighting, power, water services, controls, life-safety systems, communications and building transportation (e.g.lifts).
Design – assisting in the development of technical solutions through producing design models, calculations, specifications, reports and drawings
Analysis – using appropriate software systems to solve technical problems
Project delivery – contributing to planning, managing work schedules, budgets and deadlines working as a member of a team
Site engineering - operating quality systems and Health, Safety and Risk Management procedures and checking specified technical aspects of site construction or operation.
This apprenticeship is suitable for someone looking for a career in: Building Services Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer; Electrical Engineer.
There may be opportunity to go onto further study to enable you to be qualified to progress onto a Master’s level for Chartered Engineer status.
