Would you like to support and train apprentices and help them develop their careers? 
Our client are currently looking to recruit an Apprentice Coach on their Yorkshire Water contract to assist in raising the profile of the Apprenticeship Programmes through effective, quality pastoral care.
As the Apprentice Coach you will assist with the development of all internal Apprentices whilst ensuring all Apprentices reach their full potential.  Provide day to day support and coaching to Apprentices and the management team.  Assist Apprentices to develop their knowledge of the industry and their role.
This is a new role with room to progress, due to the expanding caseload of Apprentices and staff on training programmes.  Additional training opportunities will also be available to enhance existing mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Coach and support Apprentices to progress within their programme of study
  • Develop the knowledge of Apprentices using own personal knowledge, experience and reflection
  • Assisting Apprentices to develop their individual evidence portfolio
  • With support from Apprenticeship Manager, provide pastoral care to Apprentices currently on programme
  • Supporting welfare and safeguarding needs of the Apprentices
  • Attend and support Apprentices during college release weeks
  • Complete site evaluations to confirm the Apprentice’s knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety and site regulations
  • Complete regular Progress Reviews with Apprentices to update on the progress made and development actions- providing feedback to Apprenticeship Manager for the progress against individual learning aims
  • Liaise with Apprenticeship Manager to follow up on issues arising throughout the duration of an Apprentices programme, providing support for both supervisors and the Apprentice
  • Completing depot visits within own area of coverage to gather feedback from managers, supervisors and mentors
  • Complete follow up activities once Apprentices have completed their Apprenticeships to assist with CPD opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Prior knowledge of the industry, ideally through experience of working on site
  • Organised, structured and planned at all times
  • Coaching and Mentoring experience
  • An effective time manager in order to meet stringent timescales
  • Competent user of MS Office
  • Flexibility to support the business needs
  • Full UK driving licence
