As the F1 season comes to a closure, Lewis has already been crowned World Champion.

The Formula 1 Season gets off to a great start!

This weekend sees the end of the 2017 Formula 1 championship in Abu Dhabi and what a ride it has been this season. Although Lewis Hamilton finished 9th in Mexico he was still crowned the World Champion for the fourth time, 2008,14,15 and 2017.

But did you know that Lewis Hamilton started his career as an apprentice before being signed to McLaren in 2007 before winning his first championship the following year. Hamilton started his driving apprenticeship at the early age of 13, which obviously made him the driver he is today.

Many drivers start off in Formula 1 as an apprentice, with other well known names like Alonso and Vettel who started their apprenticeships at the same team. However you don’t need to have aspirations of becoming a world champion racing driver to do an F1 Apprenticeship there are many more options available.

Who offers Apprenticeships in F1?

You can join one of the many formula one teams in the UK within their engineering departments and be a part of their success and help them towards winning the constructors championship which is hanging in the balance this year between Mercedes and Ferrari, but to be honest Ferrari have got to hope for a miracle to have a chance of winning.
